Methodology
How the archive works.
Public Record is designed as a source-led archive. It distinguishes source material from interpretation and makes provenance visible alongside each record.
Verification
Published records can carry statuses including Source Verified, User Submitted, Disputed and Under Review. A submission is not automatically treated as true because it has been uploaded.
Corrections
Anyone can report an issue with a published record from its detail page — factual errors, broken links, dates and attribution are reviewed by a moderator in the admin console before anything changes, so the historical record is never silently edited.
Political information
Political roles and affiliations are time-sensitive. The application should store a source and verification date for current affiliations and retain historical affiliations as dated timeline records.
